Die Osprey-230 bietet zwei Videoeingänge (Composite und S-Video) sowie je einen symmetrischen (XLR) und einen unsymmetrischen (2 x Chinch) Audioeingang. Die "Hinterbandkontrolle" des Audio erfolgt über den Durchschleifausgang des unsymmetrischen Audio über eine 3,5 mm Anschluss.

Die Karte kann in ein 64-bit PCI Interface eingesetzt werden. Steht kein 64-bit PCI Steckplatz auf dem Mainboard zur Verfügung, kann ein Standard 32-bit/33MHz PCI Steckplatz, wie er auf allen zeitgemässen Mainboards vorhanden ist, verwendet werden. Die Karte ist sowohl im 64-bit also auch im 32-bit Steckplatz vollständig kompatibel. Die Karte erkennt vollautomatisch den Steckplatz und dessen Leistung und richtet sich darauf ein.

Dank des extrem schnellen Prozessors können bis maximal 30 Bilder pro Sekunde digital übertragen werden. Alle gängigen Videoediting- und Streaminganwendungen können über den AVI- und Extended-AVI-Standard mit der OSP-230 (und der OSP-560) voll genutzt werden. Hardware Cropping und integriertes Bitmap Overlay runden das Bild der OSP-230 ab.

Mit der OSP-230 bietet ViewCast eine Lösungen in reduzierter Bauhöhe. Als Hersteller oder Systemintegrator können Sie so beste Videoqualität im eigenen Gehäusedesign realisieren oder konfigurieren professionelle Lösungen in 19 Zoll Technik bei geringster Bauhöhe für Encoderfarmen wie mobilen 19" Flight-Cases oder in 19 Zoll Racks oder natürlich auch in herkömmlichen PCs realisieren.

Standardmässig wird die OSP-230 mit einem Kabelbaum zum Anschluß der unterschiedlichen Signale geliefert (siehe Bild).
Optional können je nach Anforderung auch eine Break-Out-Box oder ein Anschlußpanel im 19 Zoll Format geliefert werden.
